The Potty Fish Shop was established in 2005 by mother and daughter team, Lorna and Alison Howe. We both previously worked in The West Cork Garden Centre here in Bandon, but were made redundant in early 2005. The garden centre always had a large pet section, so when it closed we decided that what Bandon needed was a pet shop. Once we found a suitable location that provides both large display areas and plenty space for deliveries and parking, The Potty Fish Shop was born. The name you may ask, where on earth did that come from? Well, we had originally intended on keeping a certain amount of pots and garden accessories as well as fish and pet care, so a friend of my sister's decided on a night out that we should either be The Fishy Pot Shop or The Potty Fish Shop, we both agreed on The Potty Fish, and here we are. Our quirky logo was designed by Damien of SignSpec, we just gave him the name and he did the rest!
